The 1.4% Campaign
Only 1.4% of designers in the UK are of Afro-Caribbean descent. The aim of the campaign is to encourage young black people aged 13 - 16, to pursue design at further education. This includes GCSE, A-Level and degree level.
A key aim of the campaign is design education, for the target market as well as addressing specific barriers to entry for Black Britons.
The campaign addresses three main barriers to entry for Black youth:
1. A lack of knowledge of existing designers
2. A lack of design education
3. A lack of familial support
Campaign Video
